Start from Command Line
Note: this is for advanced users to achieve special automated scenarios.
For most users, simply start the software from the Windows® menu.
We wil list here the different ways to start prodalist.
(as a reminder)
This is the case when prodalist is started by one of the icons or shortcuts created during the installation
This is equivalent to:
Start & load a prodalist project file
This can be achieved either by:
- double clicking on a prodalist project (ending with .pLi extension)
- by command line, in a script or other means
This is equivalent to:
This will open directly the project and wait for your next instruction
NOTE: in the paths, so as in the project names or folders, here or below, SPACE IS ALLOWED
Start, Load a project & Generate silently*
This is achieved with:
In this mode, the generated pdf is saved in default location, the project folder itself.
Note: “ADVANCED” VERSION ONLY: the pre & post actions are started, permitting even more automation (like chaining generation or automatic printing or automatic mailing of the generated pdf)
If a project is started like that, it is strongly recommended to:
- first test the project in a manual/normal mode
- close the application afterwards to avoid to stay in silent mode and not see any warnings. This can be achieved either:
- automatically with the “POST actions”
- or by adding “exit” in the command line:
(note the double ‘#‘)
Generate to Special Directory*
Same as previous mode, but it permits to save in a dedicated directory
As in previous mode, do close the application once generated by one of the proposed means. If by command line, it should look like:
(note the simple ‘#‘)
Note1: the name of the project is still respected, including if the name is automatically generated with a counter or a variable. Just the location/directory changes
Note2: “ADVANCED” VERSION ONLY: as in previous mode, the pre & post actions are started, permitting even more automation (like chaining generation or automatic printing or automatic mailing of the generated pdf)
* = silently = without user interaction or question that could stop an automated workflow
No start of external preview, no interactive question to user.
This is achieved only with a well installed software + a valid license
